Cherish is designed for residents 55 and older, in an intergenerational community that includes residents well into their 100s.

Lunch and dinner are served daily in the Belvedere Dining Room, prepared fresh from scratch. Two seating times are available for each meal, one for residents happy to be seated wherever there's room, and a second for anyone who'd like a reservation or has a specific request.

Absolutely. We encourage friends and family to visit, join us for meals, and participate in special events. Our close connections are so key to our wellness and mental health as we age, and Cherish does everything we can to continue to foster and build those relationships. 

Our Guest Suite is available for family & friends who are coming for short-term visits to see a Cherish Resident. It can be booked through our front desk by calling 250-478-4431. Payment for the accommodation can be made via Cash or Cheque.

No, suites are unfurnished, so you can bring the furniture and belongings that make your suite feel like home.

No, telecom isn't included in your monthly rate. TELUS PureFibre is available in the building, and residents choose and pay for their own cable, phone, and internet provider directly. We do have cable TV in our Courtyard Lounge for residents to be able to come down and enjoy, and will often play sporting events such as the Super Bowl, World Series, FIFA World Cup, Olympics, etc, in our Movie Theatre if possible.

Residents may be eligible for subsidized home care through Island Health, depending on income, and may also qualify for a rental subsidy through the SAFER program with BC Housing. Please note that Cherish does not provide financial assistance to apply for these programs; however, residents and their families can apply for assistance directly.

Cherish was built with safety systems well beyond what's required by code, including intelligent particulate-based smoke detectors, heat-sensing sprinkler systems throughout every room and closet, and a public address system that allows first responders to communicate with the entire building at once.

The building has three elevators, one of which is powered by a generator, so elevator access is maintained even during an outage.

Secure underground parking is available for select suites, for cars, scooters, and bicycles. There is also surface parking for vehicles in the main parking lot.
